The Addiction to Poly begins

President's Day weekend started with Ken and Scott trimming out the electrical fixtures. They are wonderful! (And the fixtures are okay too!)
We have lights!
Then Dad's addiction to polyurethane began. It started with trim.
Mom and Oz helped a lot!
Jeff and I helped some too.
We got a lot of trim polyed...
But Dad just hadn't had enough! He insisted on finishing all the doors! And boy did we appreciated it!
Then he went to work on the mantle...6 coats! Not a drip in sight!

Then he assembled 45 drawers! That's craziness!

Oh...and then he polyed all 45 drawers!!! Now his addiction was in full swing. If he went a day without fumes he started jonesin for more!

He also polyed all of the cabinet and drawer fronts but I can't find pictures of them yet. We really would not have been able to keep up with the deadlines if it weren't for all of the hours (and brain cells) Dad sacrificed for this project!

The Interior Production

February started with mad painting weekend. Mom, Dad, Lisa, Jack, Jeff and I painted from sun up to sundown for one long weekend in February.
We got 2 coats on every wall...including the shop. Jack got to paint the shop closet. Here are pictures of the kitchen and our bedroom.
Then the fireplace was set and Tom and Joel finished up the fireplace box.
What started as a pile of rocks became...

The most beautiful fireplace I've ever seen! It's even better than I had pictured in my head.
