My Family for a Fun Weekend

My sisters and their families came up to the cabin in August. Jeff and I brought up 4 kids on Thursday so we got to go fishing on Friday. Jeff offered Windmill double scoops for the first fish and the biggest fish of the day.
Odalis got the first fish.

Marcos got the biggest fish... while eating a sandwich.

That was the weekend after the 5th Harry Potter book came out. Marcos was thrilled that Jeff was finished. He had his nose in that book during every dry moment.


Saturday we rented a jetski.

Jeff and Junior pulled tubers and skiiers.

Marcos got up on skis.

The dock start didn't work, but he was up the first try out of the water!

The girls hung out on the pontoon boat.

Sunday we got on the boat and went to Adventure Island.



Dawn got to learn how to drive the boat.



Many people tried the rope swing. Jeff showed Junior how it's done.

Heide got to be an old pro at it too.

Marcos even earned a few dollars by being brave.



We had been out in the sun so much that even I had to cover up!

Abby missed Lola after she was gone.

Summer Fun!!!

Jeff's mom enjoyed Lisa's homemade Sangria! Refreshing!

She found a way to combine sangria and fishing!

Jeff discovered squirrel tracking!

Lisa built a basketball court from a giant log and a garbage-picked backboard. She taught Jack a few plays that helped when she and Jack took on Jeff and me. Ha!

Grandma and Aunt Lis got a kayak.

4th of July

With Paula, Jeff and family

We celebrated the 4th with Paula, Jeff, Trevor, Cora, and Chelin this year. They were in the Northwoods visiting Paula's parents and came for the day.

Jeff and Jeff had a blast on the rope swing trying to keep their butts out of the water. Unfortunately I lost those incriminating pictures! We'll look forward to more adventures on 4th of July, 2008!

Logan's Visit

Jack's friend Logan came up with us in June.

They had a fabulous time at Adventure Island...as you can see!

We went to see the local ski show and the boys decided they want to grow up to be skiers!

A Cousins Weekend

In June Lola said bye-bye to her siblings for a weekend.

Aunt Lis had built her Lumberjack Lounge for the kids to camp out in.

The kids got to sleep in the tent. I was surprised they stayed out there all night without an adult. Isa said she was so scared she couldn't leave the tent all night.

We spent 10 hours a day on the pontoon boat.

The kids flipped off and had a ball at Adventure Island.

Isa enjoyed driving the boat!

They taught Abby how to climb the ladder so she could rest.

They played tag and Abby was thrilled to be IT all the time. She was just happy to be part of the gang!

The Creation of Our Way

Last summer we built the road. In May we started clearing the spot for the new cabin down by the water. We set the bench in the "Sunroom" and enjoyed the future view.

We made more log piles and burned more brush.
